The theme was blur the action. All week I’d been thinking about ways to show action, and intentional camera movement while keeping the subject in focus AND the center of attention in the frame.
I worked hard keeping a list of possible ideas: running dogs at a park, moving cars on the road, cyclists, humans walking/running or moving through space… none of those subjects worked out.
Eventually, I settled on the idea of light trails in a dark space: the headlights or taillights so often seen in cityscape photos. There was just one problem: I wasn’t going out at night and the city was emptying out due to the long weekend.
Problem solved: I used illuminated juggling orbs moving thru a dark room to create unique shapes and colors. It also gave me a reason to start practicing/sharpening my juggling skills for the upcoming theme. Stay tuned for next week’s photos…
